Caring for Caregivers

Even caregivers need breaks too: you cannot be your best to others if you yourself are not in the best headspace.  These breaks give a chance for the caregiver to recuperate and come back feeling rejuvenated. In a study completed by the National Alliance for Caregiving, it was found that over half of caregivers spent time either with friends/family or exercising away from the care recipient as a way of coping. Other forms of coping included “visiting social media sources of support (forums, blogs, Facebook, etc.)”, breathing exercises, and meditation.
